Solidity…something that could be a friend or foe. Currently, solidity was a friend to Lee Suhoon, as it had been many times in his life. The chance to mull over his thoughts, analyze them, store unwanted contemplations elsewhere, could only be achieved by being alone. He couldn’t have been more pleased that evening, having stepped into the barren Ravenclaw common room—an oddity, since an hour before, he had encountered chattering Ravenclaws everywhere. His slim body fit the contours of a plush, navy armchair near a corner, tucked away in a cloak of shadows. Perfect for drawing the energy lost in the blazing sun.
Mika Summoned a tiny ottoman from across the room before resting his heels into the fabric layer atop the furniture. Just when he began to doze off, mind swimming with endless musings and junk, something—or someone—stirred in the peripherals of his pale blue eyes, and only now did he realize that he hadn’t been alone. It also seemed that neither had been aware of each others’ presence, until now. Oddly enough, the girl still didn’t notice him, and only proceeded to face the roaring heath.
A strain of song floated across the room from her direction…she was singing. Having possession of golden pipes himself, Mika couldn’t help but scrutinize the few lines she had just sung, but there was more. Tilting his head to pick up her voice, a revelation captured him instantly: her vocals were nearly flawless. Although the words weren’t spoken allowed, they were high praise, and the boy couldn’t help but lose himself in the calming lull of the girl’s voice. It was a unique tone, and not a single note was off-key, very exemplary and astonishing. A bit perplexed, he silently waited for more, a finger lightly covering his lips in curiosity.
She continued, eyes welling up with the familiar shot tears that she had so often cried back at home. And, for the first time, she was allowing those very tears to come out at Hogwarts. Sure, she had once before cried for reasons she did not was to reestablish, but this was something different. These tears were the ones she was determined to get rid of. The ones that never failed to come back even so she hated them more than she had hated anything before. They showed her greatest weakness, and in them she felt futile and stubborn. She took a moment, her song gently fading and bringing the room back to it’s pristine silence before the tears ceased and all returned to it’s previous state. She wiped them from the apples of her cheeks, and it was if the occurrence had never existed.
Sera placed a hand on the cushion and pushed herself up, back into her previous sitting position, eyes transfixed on the flame once again as she combed her fingers through her hair. It was painful— she could never do as she pleased. Her destiny had been set out for her since the day she was born and there was literally nothing in her power capable of changing that. Every day for the rest of her life she would have to deal with what she vastly disliked. Magic was wonderful and intriguing and in most cases, very fun to learn, though there were other times she wished she could remove herself from the school entirely to simply chase her dream.
Then, it struck her. The other presence. How whoever it was had been watching from the start. How silly she had been. Sera had a keen recollection, or at least she had thought, to understand things of the sort. “Sorry if you were studying or something…sometimes I can’t help but sing.” she spoke, omitting the fact it was probably most polite to so much as face the person but she found she could not. She had been seen in her weakest state, and meeting whoever it was who had witnessed her in her least favorite mindset was surely not up for some sort of late night conversation. It left her embarrassed, a pink hue taking over where her tears had run before, thoughts of home subsiding as now all that encircled her mind was how she would explain if whomever wanted. Regardless, she kept her hopes, remaining to watch as the fire danced on it’s own.

Low, barely audible cries could be heard from the direction of the girl, and Sohee instantly found herself on her feet. A few steps later, and they were seperated by a few feet. The girl’s attention seemed to snap from wallowing in her own thoughts to the new presence, and she uttered out a weak apology. Sohee couldn’t help but stare at the newcomer, her eyes rimmed with red, and her tears still shining on her face. Every sign seemed to point to the fact that she had been crying.
Sympathy was a difficult feeling, only possible for Sohee to portray convincingly if she deeply cared about the other person. For some odd reason, the sight of the disheveled, despondent soul slumped over before the Slytherin seemed to set something alight in her mind. “Get up.” The words were not spoken unkindly, just a simple way to convey that the girl get it together. Sohee squatted down to envelop her small hands on the girl’s petite shoulders, lifting her up into a standing position. Inhaling and exhaling deeply, the Slytherin girl faced the Ravenclaw. Despite the fact that their identities were completely unknown to each other, the display of emotional damage was enough for Sohee. “Tell me everything.”
Just as Sera was sure she had disturbed the girl, something odd begun. Like her world had been flipped upside down, thrown to the ground and picked back up again by the hands of God. Yes, He had surely done her a favor with this one. Maybe He wasn’t as angry as she had thought. It was a strange feeling. Perhaps she was worth the oxygen she inhaled, or was beginning to feel so once again. This was truly just what she needed, and whatever had brought the girl to do so was beyond her. Regardless, she nearly broke down once again. In regret, gratefulness, confusion. She couldn’t find it within her self to understand, yet really had not a second thought to question it’s sincerity.
Where would she begin? Everything? Sera was slightly taken aback with the generalized statement, and couldn’t help but place some reluctance into her actions as the other girl helped her to stand again. Perhaps she wasn’t done moping. To be on the ground, within her own world, void of reality, felt more safe than this did. Albeit truth be told this was the healthier option and she knew it, just wasn’t all too keen on accepting. “He’s here.” she begun, the familiar emotions she had felt as she had seen his face once more pooling in the pit of her stomach. Yes, she had accepted his fake proposition. Though in pity. Now, Sera held such regret it had brought her to tears and the fact she could not back out had her in an absolute turmoil. Could she tell this mystery person? There was no telling if she would go and interrogate Minho, as in, reveal their secret. That was the last thing Sera wanted. To lose his trust. He had abused her trust one too many times for Sera want to inflict such a feeling upon anyone, even himself. “You have to promise not to tell.” she spoke, voice gravelly yet slowly travelling back to composure. She reached up, wiping the tears with the back of her sleeve. Please say you won’t tell.

Sera slammed the heavy text in front of her shut. Finally finished. Even if it was the dead of night, she had completed her entire potions essay the first day of it’s disposal. Now that was out of the way, there would be an extra few minutes to relax— not to mention a full night’s rest when she did decide to go to bed that evening.
It only took a moment to realize she had been left alone. It was a given as it had been relatively late and Mondays did have a way with tiring the students out. She sighed, the room silent and somewhat stuffy due to the increasing spring temperature. She was ready for summer, even if it did boarder her from her seventh year, NEWTS, and her last few terms at Hogwarts, she craved the break. The girl shoved the text into her book bag, the heavy weight somewhat strenuous on her shoulder, then, stood up and pushed the chair into the empty study table. The worst thing about this night was that it proved to be terribly muffled. She was sure it was legible to hear a pin drop. This was uncommon for the Ravenclaw common room, as it was generally full of students from different years focused on their studies, chatting away about work. Something about it was almost disconcerting.
She would have to liven the place up. Somehow.
Taking unhurried steps, she made her way toward the fireplace, it’s red and orange hue seeming to remain unchanged for as long as she had been at the school. It was odd almost. Now once had she seen it gone attended to yet it had burned for as long as she could remember. Would it still when the weather became excruciating? Sera dropped her bag on the couch closest then plopped down beside it. Sometimes being alone was nice. She leaned to the side, resting her shoulder against the cushions as her eyes caught the flame. What to do what to do. Before she could think upon it, her natural instinct began, and with that, came a song. A rhythm she thought she had long forgotten; one her mother had sung to her as a child. One of the few memories she had of her parent in a right mind. Recently her mum had become different. ”And I saw my reflection in the snow covered hills, well the landslide brought me down. Oh mirror in the sky, what is love?” she continued, turning quickly so she had shifted onto her back, watching the pattern of the ceiling, eyes tracing each intricate detail. “Can the child within my heart rise above? Can I sail through the changing tides? Can I handle the seasons of my life?”
-Looks up slightly and forces somewhat of a smile before taking your hand and wearily standing- Thanks… I’m um, Elison
I’m Sera. -blinks, somewhat concerned- Are you hurt or…? Is there something I can do? Oh- you’re a Ravenclaw, right? -notices the colors on your uniform- Why don’t you go chill in the common room instead of out here? It’s…cold in the halls this time of night.
